Kayla [pronounced as (C)up + pr(AY) + (LU)sh] is an Arabic word that means "measurement container", a bowl or cup used for measuring and weighing things like grain and powder. It is an indirect Quranic word. Most Arabs don't use it as a name since it doesn't have a good meaning (even though the meaning isn't bad).

Kayla is also a popular Jewish/Israeli name and refers to Ethiopian Jews and their ancient language.
