Awsaja (Name)

Awsaja (transliteration: ʿAwsaja, Arabic: عوسجة) is an ancient Arabian name for boys that means “an ʿawsaj bush”. Al-Jawhari describes Awsaj as a thorny plant,1 known as lycium or box-thorn in English.2 ʿAwsaj is the name of the plant type, ʿAwsajah means “a (single) ʿAwsaj“.
